Speaker 1:

Welcome to A Witch, a Mystic and a Feminist. It's a good day today. I'm Jamie Marlena and myself. Welcome back to the podcast, Julia Lena Hattis. Her original episode was from season two, episode 22. Yep, go listen to it. But after you listen to this one. And now here we are in season three, ready to catch up With this charming magical mixologist, professional witch and bestselling author who has a very new book out, the next in her modern witchcraft series, the modern witchcraft book of new magic.

Speaker 2:

Hi Julia, hi Gia Yay.

Speaker 3:

We are so excited to have you back.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, thank you for having me again.

Speaker 2:

I always love chatting with you ladies and listening to your podcast too, so I'm excited Just this time this time I feel a little sad because I don't have my witchcraft cocktail at nine o'clock in the morning on Daylight Savings Day. I think I need that right now.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I was going to. I actually have my Pisces Moon Potion from the Real because I make a lot of drinks so I can't drink that much, so like I put them in bottles, Sometimes I freeze them. If they're going to freeze, OK, and so I'm like planning to, I could probably go grab that.

Speaker 2:

Not that I can pour it. For you, geez, I'm jealous, I want, I want I did think about making one.

Speaker 1:

I was like I wonder probably the ingredients. I could, totally, I'm like, but it's like nine, like eight.

Speaker 3:

I was like I don't know if I can handle that. We're not in Vegas, you know, it's just I am. I'm in.

Speaker 2:

Vegas. I mean, I'm at my house, but I'm in Vegas.

Speaker 3:

It's a whole vibe thing. So, julia, you have a new book out, and so why don't you tell us a little bit about your book? I'm excited for it.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I have to say, because I was like I loved that podcast that you had with I think it was Kristen Leo or something, yes, and I was like, oh my God, now I'm going to talk, Like she's saying such wonderful stuff, like what in the world am I going to say that people haven't heard before?

Speaker 3:

But you know, what I think is amazing is, you know we have people come on the show and they have very similar outlooks, but one person can say something that really resonates more with a listener than say the other person did, and so you know, I never have an issue with bringing on similar guests, and you know our guests absolutely loved you in the past, so I love it.

Speaker 4:

We can always talk about like mixology too, you know, and also like I've been here before, so you know I love talking about like just being the author experience because it's very interesting this time around. But yeah, my new book, the Modern Witchcraft Book of Moon Magic I don't know if you guys have my Moon Mixology, moon Magic Mixology book or not. Ok, so I know, like Witchcraft Cocktail for sure. But yeah, adam's Media wanted to put out another of their Modern Witch series, just kind of like Llewelyn has their books for the Sabbaths and the holidays, adam's has their Modern Witchcraft series and I already did, I mean, magic Mixology with them, and so they reached out to me about writing this book. And obviously, yes, because I love Moon Magic. You know that's the whole like behind.

Speaker 4:

What I do with Witchcraft Cocktails is doing drinks for the moon and everything like that, and so there's so many good Moon Magic books out there and so obviously I try and add something to it if I can and provide enough information that people can adapt it to to themselves. So I'm really excited about it. I was just actually reading good read reviews on the book last night slash this morning. I know it's not even the books are out yet, because coming out right on the solstice or the equinox sorry, but they like team up with our copy distributors like Net Galley or something, and there's like approved pre-readers. I'm so like wow, it was just exciting to read it before it comes out.

Speaker 3:

Because, like someone other than myself, Well, I did pre-order your book, so I am really excited about that. One thing I love about your books because I have some of the modern witchcraft or I think there's two of them, because you did one on astrology as well, correct?

Speaker 3:

Yes, I did the astrology one, and so I have that one as well. And I love how you put things in simple terms because, like, when it comes to astrology, I get super confused and so I'm just wondering if it really just doesn't resonate with me. But that's a whole, nother subject. But you put things in simple terms and I love that, because then it's easier for me or beginners to understand.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah. There's so much with astrology Like it's really just you got to take it bite size.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

There's a reason why it's a whole other profession, you know right. So, yeah, it's just, and I think the moon is actually a great place to start with that honestly, because it's like a great way that look at the zodiac signs and the moon and how that interacts, you know, the new moon versus the full moon so I think that's a nice, you know, simple place to start for learning those kinds of things.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, awesome, so oh, go ahead.

Speaker 1:

Christy Go ahead Well, so as a recording. Today we're in a new moon, so, and we were kind of talking in the pre recording before you got on about the different conflicting messages out there. But you know, like on the new moon is new beginnings and full moon is released right or vice versa. So I've heard both and I wanted to get your take on on that.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and that's the thing is like I love about like witchcraft or magical practices is we can improvise and make them work for how we're feeling, and I think it's kind of both. You know it's both. It's really a matter of you personally. I think at different seasons of your life you're also going to feel differently. You know we all have different astrological birth charts so you know different new moon or full moon might feel differently for us. It's funny because I was like starting YouTube.

Speaker 4:

It's like one of the exciting things I'm really excited about now and I was just recording a new moon magic video and how I kind of look at it is more like waxing cycle versus the way cycle, and the new moon and the full moon are on the cusp of both of those kinds of energies and so for some people they prefer to to rest and cleanse and tune in at the new moon and some people prefer to set intentions to grow with the waxing light, and then some people with full moon it's more about like a celebration or like just the mood and it's full beauty and power. Some witches will cast manifestation and spells around then and other people feel the need to release. So I think it's just also being in tune with yourself, and that's kind of what the moon is all about, you know, is your own intuitive feeling. But yeah, I mean to dive into like more of like the full moon thing. Although I can talk forever, it's like I don't want to keep going, so please go, I'm like.

Speaker 4:

I'm going, I can feel a tangent coming. I don't want to like, you know, um, yeah, but like. So, specifically with the new moon, the new moon is always going to be in the same sign that the sun is in, so if it's tourist season, the new moon is going to be in tourists. You guys already obviously know that, but anyway. And so the thing about that is, I do really see the new moon as this really potent time of divine alignment. You know, you think of the sun as like, you know your conscious awareness, you know waking reality, your creative life force, you know ego, identity and the moon being, you know, reflecting back right the soul, our sense of feeling or emotional landscape, that intuitive aspect that provides insight into our waking reality. And so the alignment of the new moon and the sun is just like this divine alignment of the meeting of those forces in our lives and within ourselves, and not just in our perspective from Earth. So it is a great time for setting intentions. But also the waxing crescent, when you begin to see the moon, still has that rush of renewal and hope. So for people who prefer to rest at the new moon, they might like work with the waxing crescent moon instead. The only thing about that is then you have to like reference.

Speaker 4:

What sign the waxing crescent is, you don't know, is easily, and the full moon, in comparison, is opposite, where it's always going to be the opposite sign, right. And so the thing there is that it can be like a confliction of energies, but if you can find balance between them, that's where great things arise. And so for some people, that balance between them can be releasing as things are illuminated, but also can be super powerful. I mean there's like full moon rituals and manifestation and leaning into that, for you know a lot of witches, and I think there's a reason. It is a powerful moment of where the moon is in contrast to the sun and holding its power and space and full illumination. So different cycles are just going to feel differently.

Speaker 2:

That's interesting. So because you do hear so much information out there, so it's kind of hard to pull. I should be doing this, I should be doing that. But I like that relation of what feels good for you. What feels right for you Is it a intention setting, manifestation, is it a release. I kind of like the idea of rest. That's a good one. I can do some rest, so it might be a rest day today, yeah, but I do. I like that because it can be very overwhelming and you never know what's right, because there's so much information now, so much.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, probably the worst person to talk to about that, because I'm always like well, it's like, what is it that you feel you know?

Speaker 3:

Well, no, I think that's important, though. Yeah, you know it's what you're feeling, what feels good to you, and yeah, so I think you're the best person. I think you're the best person.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I can say for myself too. Like you know, I think it's just really the season of life that you live in, because I'm like in this interesting space where, like there's like the real in depth of cold witchcraft, you know, aspect, and then there's like the more you know magic, and then also like the new age, like they're all kind of like different categories of people, and I feel like I kind of like in the middle of all those things and like there can be a lot about talking about discipline and your spiritual or magic or witchcraft practice, and I think that is really important. But also like life's freaking complicated and I I know for myself like I've just been in going through so many changes and shifts. You know, moving to Arizona, I can settled here, my dad dying, and I'm just like you know, you've you've got to learn to tune into yourself a little bit and just like what's most approachable for you and what do you need in your life right now, cause it's otherwise. You just can't maintain it if it's not adaptable.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, agreed, tell us a little more about your book. Yeah, that's what I was going to ask you. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Okay, I'll tell you what I'm most excited. I'll give you guys like I'll go through the contents and I hope that they sent you the book copies. I have to double check. I know I sent them your information, but oh, I haven't received them yet.

Speaker 3:

Okay, hopefully they're coming, but, like I said, I also pre-ordered your book, so so I'm going to have multiple copies and I don't. I don't hate that.

Speaker 4:

And then I wanted to say too like this is so, like I, even before I became like a witchcraft author, I wanted to be like a fantasy or fiction author as a kid and so I'd smell books and like, when you get it, just smell it, because like it smells like like a garden herb for some reason.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I'm so excited to smell this book. I'm so excited it's a scratchy sniff. I love it.

Speaker 4:

It's like, it's like interesting. I know, like I'm like my partner he he's a chef, so he loves to cook and he likes it and I'm kind of like, wait, he's like, what herbs is that? You know, like I like herbs too, but like this is like more like a cilantro, or like it's not like rosemary, you know. So I'm just like.

Speaker 1:

I like smelling books too, so this will be. I'm very excited to smell your book, that's how I smell your book. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, I'm so excited to smell your book.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I know it's so funny to say it and, like through some, I'm also mentioning that cause I wasn't sure. I'm like meeting with local indie fiction fantasy authors and I'm like, wow, mind-boggling experience, I love them out here, and so they. They're like it might just be the package you got, but then we went to like our local Barnes and Noble the other day and it was so funny because my book's not out yet, but I'm doing a launch event there and so they already had it on the show, oh no, no.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, it was totally fine though, but like we went and smelled it and we're like, oh, it smells just like it, so it's just whatever they use.

Speaker 3:

That's awesome though.

Speaker 4:

Sorry for that tangent, but yeah.

Speaker 3:

I'll just no. But I'm sitting here wondering. I'm like okay, I have a witchcraft section on my bookshelf, so now I'm gonna go and smell every single one of them. And be like is because I'm wondering if it's something with regards to the energy of the book yeah, oh, I'm not like that.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's a good thing. Yes, I have to say like. The other thing too is like I love about smelling books. When you like, go to like a local metaphysical shop. It depends on the location, but a lot of them smell like incense and then you just take on the book and it's just like it is amazing, a whole experience.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Anyway, not to like talk on it all, so all of our listeners.

Speaker 1:

Smell your books. Make sure you smell your books.

Speaker 2:

It's not weird, it's normal. Okay, oh yeah.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, but anyway, I'll just go to the table of contents and then talk about like a couple things that I'm really excited about with the book and so we talk about. We start with a little bit of like witchcraft and the moon, just basics, history, a little bit of science. There was some really cool new research which I'm probably going to talk about, that I was excited to include in there. But the whole basis of that chapter is just like to kind of just remind you that every single moment of every single day you're connected to the moon, like there's never a separation of not being connected versus being connected. At play of partner evolution, the moon studied our experience of the seasons, our length of day. So it's just, you know like we evolved in tune with that.

Speaker 4:

Then, of course, the moon phases. You know the energy of the moon phases and you know from general energy perspective and astrology there, but also just magically how to use it, different things that you can take the messages, and then also special lunar occasions, eclipses, blue, black moons, all those things. Then we go into the seasonal spell casting, so working with the moon through the seasons. I can talk so much. I'm sorry I need to work on my elevator pitch. I'm so sorry, I'm like how do I?

Speaker 1:

You don't want your elevator pitch, I know.

Speaker 4:

I know, I know, I'm like oh my god, I'm dragging on.

Speaker 4:

I was going to say like I write too much and like, in the editing process they're like somehow you managed to add even more words and now we have to cut out 10,000 words, so we had to go through. Oh my god, we had to cut out Anyway. So that's just like mean and not shallow stress. I need to like learn to cut down. Then moon sign magic.

Speaker 4:

So what does the moon mean In each sign? Just general energy, kind of to give the bits and pieces of each aspect they can take and mix and match what works for them. Lunar correspondences they're talking about lunar deities, ingredients, minerals, all those things. Then just general lunar spell casting for people that are beginners, things of like working their relationship with the moon, keeping a lunar grimoire, integrating the moon into your altar, working with energy. So if someone brand new to magic, they can, like you know, understand the basics in order to do the spells. Then there's spells for the spell section, for you know the moon phases, so specifically how each moon can benefit your magic or your intentions that you set. Then special occasion moon spells and rituals, seasonal moon spells, moon sign spells and then moon deity spells. So I tried to put as much as possible, but probably not when you spread yourself thin or trying to do too much. I just hope I gauge section. You know it's proper do, but yeah, yeah, I'm sure you did.

Speaker 2:

I'm so excited for this. Yay, I know, I went to pre-order it last night and then I got distracted. I'm like, oh, I need to pre-order this. So I'm very excited for your new book. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Don't pre-order it, because it's coming in, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Or pre-order it if you want multiple copies. That's true, that's true, yeah.

Speaker 4:

And I think those sections that I'm sorry, I'm so excited, the sections that I'm most excited about, are also talking about the first chapter and also the seasonal. Obviously I love all of it, you know, but I'm really excited about the first chapter because I think there's just a lot of I was an anthropology degree, I took astronomy and stuff, not like a strommer, so like not to. You know, people always talk about like things like I'm not in college but I'm like also like, keep it grounded. I'm not like a professional in that respect, but you know just certain facts about, like you know, the moon and how we involved in tune with it.

Speaker 4:

Because I think it's so easy when your, you know your sky is crowded and you can't see the moon, to kind of forget your inherent connection to it at every single moment of every single day and just realizing, like our experience of life has been entirely defined by the moon.

Speaker 4:

And I love that part of the book for that reason, because it's just reminding you of that intrinsic connection.

Speaker 4:

It's not just the new or the full moon, it's a part of your every single day, every single moment. And then I love talking about the seasonal aspect because we all hear about things like the strawberry, you know, the pink moon and it's so easy to get caught into, like the monthly moon names, which I do talk about that, but more through, the lens of the moon is intertwined with the seasons, right, talking about how the moon has helped or, you know, kind of evolved your experience of life and how that's in tune with our experience of the seasons, you know, with harvesting and plant life. And so that way, like regardless of what name a moon is called, which is also going to depend on your locality, right, that comes from you know, indigenous traditions to the location that you're at, but just the general seasonal energy. So if there's someone who likes working with the seasonal chefs, you know, or like a green witch in that aspect it's blending those things together, like the moon is a seasonal practice too.

Speaker 2:

I love it. I know I love talking about the moon I like, and the guests we've had on recently and now this I'm like, oh, the moon is really screaming at me. I mean, this is it's yeah, lots of moon stuff and I just I think it's fantastic that we learn to appreciate it for everything it has done and does for us and the energy that we can use from it to cultivate, and just it's just beautiful. I love all the conversations right now with the moon, so thank you.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, of course. So what was your experience in writing this book? Because this is now your fourth book. So what was your experience writing this one compared to, say, the one just before that? The astrology?

Speaker 4:

I actually so excited to talk about it because I feel like this book there's just like, obviously, every book is an experience writing that it's transitional and transformation. I'm really excited about this one. It's just so funny because, like, this is something else in the other podcast she talked about. But you know just how the moon connects us all, but also her time, you know, and connecting to our ancestors or a child of the moon.

Speaker 4:

I don't want to like trauma dump, so, but my dad died while I was writing this book and so, or like during the editing process and the things, adams media specifically, they give me, like you know, the initial manuscript.

Speaker 4:

You have two months to write and then there's a whole editing process. So it's just like you know you can't do anything else but that and then, like, right after turning in the manuscript and beginning the editing process, my dad passing away and going back to my childhood home and I'm like what a great literal metaphor for what the moon represents. You know, an astrology, but also just the experience of. You know, I worked in a metaphysical shop for years and people would come in and ask and do moon rituals and things like that and guiding people as to what spells to do or how to work with them in their practice and so kind of bringing that energy back, of just being able to dump all the knowledge that I love to talk about, and and having a book agent this time around definitely changed the experience to where now I'm feeling much more prepared for the launch of this book than I ever have. So I'm excited, yeah.

Speaker 3:

That's amazing. What are you hoping that the readers of your book get out of it in the end?

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I think, just finding a way to work with the moon that works for them. You know, with all of my spell work I try and like give things that people can change or improvise according to them. So there's appendix in the back. Appendix in the back. Yeah, it's like you know what I'd like to use the excuse of the time zone, even though in Arizona we don't change times.

Speaker 2:

I'm just going to say We'll give that to you. Okay, we'll give it to you.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, fair. But you know, just reference in terms of just energetically, what kinds of crystals or herbs might relate to the moon in a certain sign. There's a lot of different beliefs on those kinds of things, so I'm just kind of giving my suggestions there. But that way, if someone like wants to change a certain spell around to match whatever sign the moon is in, they can do that. So, yeah, I just I think if people can walk away with remembering their intrinsic connection to the moon, feeling more naturally in tune with it rather than feeling it so separate from themselves, and being able to take the things that work for them to an adoptable, sustainable practice we don't have to also talk just about this, but like honestly, Well, I was going to go

Speaker 3:

into something else now but you know, I'm really excited that you're starting a YouTube channel, but I watch your TikToks and I love the drinks that you make and you know your creativity with making those TikToks Just absolutely amazing but also the creativity and of the drinks that you make and your potions and just the beauty of it. And then I also saw Hillary Burton Morgan, because you did a drink for her book when that came out and so she reposted your TikTok or your Instagram at that time, which I thought was amazing too.

Speaker 4:

And I was so excited for you.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, that was like an unbelievable moment for me, so funny. So yesterday I went to like another author Q&A because for the first time I feel like doing book launch stuff now, which I've never done before, right. And so I went to another author Q&A and like one question, they asked like if a famous author could mention you, who would it be? And like in my cause I'm like trying to write down like questions, so like for my Q&A we can think about those kinds of things, and I'm like, oh well, that already happened for me because that was freaking awesome. But yeah, she actually, like I noticed her follow me at some point, like like a year and a half, two years ago I don't know how long it's been and I was like, is this real, you know? And then, yeah, and so then like when I saw that she was coming out with her grandma girl book and I know she also has her like her company MF Libations with her husband, and so I like I was like, oh well, you know she follows my work, let me just reach out and see if you want me to create a cocktail for her release. Oh my God, and I love that you brought that up because the intertwines just with everything here. Because it was, I was like yes, yes, and you know she was interested and so, like you know, coordinating with her team to make that recipe. And it was crazy because, like you know, right in the middle of this my dad passed away. So I was like flying to California and like trying to take some like demo pictures and work on the recipe so I could share with them when I was making. So it was like this whole crazy timeline but it was I loved.

Speaker 4:

Like her spirit was really surprising, because when you hear Blockberry Gin, you're like, oh, is this going to be like Blackberry, brandy or Blackberry before, but no, it's like really and truly a gin. You know that herbal and gins are all different. I should say that you know, because there's a lot of different. There's London Dry, you know, versus Warman, you know herbal gin and it like it has that, it's like gin, but it has a back note of just the essence of Blackberry, which is what I love about. You know, if you do drink alcohol although now there's zero proof spirits so you can come up with equivalent versions now is just kind of getting that essence of an ingredient. You know the spirits of it. So yeah, it was so cool making that recipe. Do you have any specific questions about that?

Speaker 3:

No, I mean, I didn't actually make it so, but I know, I know that you had posted the recipe and everything as well, but I was just I just remember, I was watching it and I was like, oh my God, that's so beautiful. And then she, then she reposted it. I was like, yes, julia, I was so excited for you and also I'm a huge one tree fan, so she was like, not that, I'm like, you know, it's not like we talk a lot or anything.

Speaker 4:

You know, we just kind of had that interaction around her book, but like she's like in my interactions with her she's like really awesome, just the energy and authenticity is just amazing. But yeah, like when she reposted that, I got like 2k followers from that and I'm like, oh my God, because it's like so hard to like, the thing that people do like to draw on these platforms is just post, post, post, post. I'm like I have to actually make some fucking recipes, you know like it takes time and so I'm so slow on my posting schedule.

Speaker 4:

And so when that happened I was like, oh my God, like finally some growth.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah. Now, I totally get that when it comes to growth on social media and I'm horrible at it. Like on my own personal one, I'm like you know, here's my kid, here's my husband, here are my dogs on the Witch Mystic Feminist social media platforms. I'm so busy with work right now that I'm like I'm lucky if I even get the post for the new episode that comes out. So you know, our growth has been stagnant for a long time, but you have like that's my doing.

Speaker 4:

You've had, like you know, the experience of winning awards. I know you guys were all like well, we don't like to. You know, talk about it you know from that point. But seriously though, like this and accomplish my. I was listening to that podcast episode so.

Speaker 3:

And so that's why I did that one mini episode of you know, because part of me was like, well, spiritually, you know, like this is a big ego thing and I was like, but you know, I'm also a human.

Speaker 3:

And you know, I'm myself on the back like kind of thing, you know, me and my girls did the damn thing, and so actually I woke up this morning to find out we won another award, so our first award in 2024. So really excited about that, you know, because, if nothing else, you know we're doing something right, you know, and we're resonating with people, we're bringing on excellent guests like yourself and you know. So, really, just, you know, having fun with it. So yeah, Congratulations.

Speaker 4:

What award is it?

Speaker 3:

So it's the American Writing Awards, their podcast of the year for the religion and spiritual category.

Speaker 2:

That's so cool. Yeah, pretty exciting stuff, yeah.

Speaker 3:

So you know it's exciting and yeah, while I feel like there's partially ego, you know, included in that, I don't know if, as a human, you can completely kill off your ego, you know, and so I don't think you should.

Speaker 4:

You know right, because, honestly, that's where you get to a point, too, where you get taken advantage of. Like that's been a whole learning experience for me. You know, like I'm doing like this mixology stuff and then going back to the time that I did when I moved to Arizona, bartending jobs and just like you know people paying you minimum wage, you know it's not like there's nothing wrong with you know, whatever lifestyle you live in, making minimum wage and just getting by. But it's just like I'm not being paid my value and in order to do that, you have to know your value, which does take that balance of that ego. It's part of the experience on earth, obviously always in balance, but I think it's very healthy to like lean into that, to know to honor the experiences you've had and know your value.

Speaker 3:

So yeah, Just got to keep it in check and that's something that I know. Yeah, I know that something I've been working on is knowing my worth and standing firm with that.

Speaker 4:

It's so hard to do it's difficult. Yeah, especially when you just want to help and connect with people I don't know for me. And then I'm like, oh, that's right, like some people are, like I hate knowing that, because I don't believe people are authentically like that. But also like some people are just kind of out there for themselves, and then you're like wanting to like help, and then you're like, oh, this is not feeling so great. Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so we're coming up on time. I hate having to wrap things up, especially with you, but I would. So one of the things I would love to do is, once we have the book and have gone through it, bring you back. I know we've done that with one of our other guests, jamie Della, with her book so, and I had a great time doing that, because I was able to read the book and then we discussed it with her, and so I'd love to do that with you as well.

Speaker 3:

And then when you come back, we'll do a book giveaway. So we'll plan that within the next same month or so and we'll read your book, do a book giveaway and be able to discuss your book in depth.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I'm so sorry for not like carrying the. I don't know, I just feel awkward talking about my work sometimes I'm like please don't feel awkward about that.

Speaker 3:

I love your work and I always have like I think that you do just an amazing job and I think you're an amazing author and so I'm really excited and I get really into when listening to you talk about your work.

Speaker 4:

And you know that's something that should be celebrated so please don't feel weird about that with us and I'm sure, coming back to it, you know like there's going to be like the lunar eclipse and solar eclipse and stuff, so we'll have a lot more to talk about.

Speaker 3:

Exactly and because I you know, at that point we can go through and be like okay, you know, you just got this in your book, you know, and be, able to go into that a little bit more, so I'm really excited about that yeah.

Speaker 4:

I'll just follow up with my publisher to make sure. People only just got like on the East Coast, I should say their books like on Friday so and I don't think anyone on the West Coast has gotten it yet. So I'll just double check with them to make sure. But just let me know, like some of the message, when you get it. It's that way, I know it went through, absolutely.

Speaker 3:

So before we go, I know that you have a new Patreon group, so please start plugging yourself. I'd love for everybody to you know. Jump in on that, but please tell us a little bit about that.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I'm like super excited again because of this book release. I'm feeling prepared, and even just connecting with local authors where I am in different categories is really cool, and so just leaning in and being into that space. So I'm creating a Patreon. I mean, most of the work I do, you know, is just self-funded. Obviously, I write my books and get paid to write books, you know, but otherwise, on my blog, creating drinks, like that, all comes from me, out of my pocket, and I wanted to create a way that's more sustainable.

Speaker 4:

Especially social media is just like so much to manage and I'm like what's the way that I can really connect with people because I love connecting with everyone, but in a sustainable way that also continues to support the creation of these recipes or spells or sharing information, like on YouTube, which I'm so excited about because I love talking about magical shit. And so, yeah, I created a Patreon. It's just starting, just brand new, and I'm kind of like letting people kind of tell me what areas of my work they want me to lean into more and share with them behind the scenes. So super excited about that. And then also just creating this YouTube where I can just talk about things like New Moon Magic or Eclipses and also magical mixology. So yeah, Beautiful, beautiful.

Speaker 3:
